Bj's accident

What a busy few months we have had. We had Bj involved in a bull riding accident on Feb 11, which sent him to the hospital in a ambulance. Bj was stepped on by his bull and it broke both bones in his left arm. One bone was broke in two and the other was broke in multiple places. Bj went into surgery and it lasted 2 1/2 hrs. They put in two plates and eleven screws. Within 24 hrs he was headed back into surgery and he came out with a wound vac attached to his arm.
The Dr decided to reopen his wound and leave it open to help with the swelling and drainage. he was in the hospital for a week.

Bj packed the wound vac around for a month. He just went back into surgery to have it closed up. He has about 25 stitches. The Dr is hoping the skin will stretch so he does not have to return and open the wound again. They are trying to stay away from a skin graft.

Bj has keep a pretty good spirit with all the different things going on. We are hoping he can return to school by 4th quarter. He now has to attend physical therapy 3 times a week to start getting his fingers and hand moving again. And he is still planning to return to the sport of Bull riding as soon as possible

Ready for Christmas???

Are you ready for Christmas? Every time I take that step closer to being ready for Christmas, I remember something else and then I have to take a step back. With less then two weeks left my shopping must get done! But those of you with little kids enjoy it. The older kids are harder to buy for and their choices are more expensive. I can reflect back to when I would set a $200.00 limit and I had a hard time buying enough to meet that limit and now I can barely squeeze in a few items and the limit is met.

With a split family we only have the kids every other Christmas morning and then we get them at 1:00 on the other year. So I decided my limit would increase when they wake up on Christmas morning at our house and set a $200.00 limit when we don't get them until 1. I think this should be fair because when you times that by six, it adds up fast.

My life savor to shopping this year was the Internet. I found some wonderful sites with free shipping and so a shopping I began. If you have not shop on the Internet, before try it,

This week I will focus on finishing up my Christmas shopping and then the wrapping begins!!

FAMILY NEWS!

Well I decided to get back to my blog page. I've been off work for three weeks since my surgery and three more to go and you would think that I should have alot of time on my hands, but the days fly by and I feel like nothing gets done. Between my surgery and having Lasik eye surgery I feel like I should be a new person, but my body does not bounce back like it use to. I am excited to get the next six weeks over so I can get back on my horses, but on the same note that means I will have to go back to work and so that bums me out. But I would rather work and ride horses then not get to ride horses.

The kids keep me very busy as well:

Kelsie broke her wrist a week and half ago and now has been told she has the first stages of pneumonia, so I have spent alot of time in Dr offices. And she still won't settle down from her soccer teams. She just finished her High school soccer season and just joined at least three indoor soccer teams, a comp. team and a dodge ball team. She plays a game for each every week plus practices for her comp. team twice weekly. Oh and she still fits school in. She will graduate this next year.

The boys have not had alot going on right now. No rodeo for the next three months, therfore we get a big break.
Bj is real excited right now. He just got his driving permit and Glenn's boss just gave him a used truck. Every boys dream!!

Bryan just loves to hang out at home and if someone will take him fishing he is in heaven,

Katie lives with her dad now, but I think we actually see more of her now, then when she lived with us. She stays real busy with her college classes and works real hard to keep excellent grades. She also works for Dr. Shaw an orthodontist.

Daniel my step son is getting ready for basketball season to start. He loves to play sports. We see him every chance we can.

Brooke my step daughter is busy with school and working for Walgreen's in their pharmacy department.

Glenn, he is a trooper to keep up with our busy schedule and a great supporter of all the activities. He stays busy with his job and still finds time for me. He is a GREAT GUY!

Ready Set Go!

Well as if I don't have enough to do, I am starting this blog. Amy directed me on how to begin, and so here we go!
